Compare an Indianapolis visit with the full small-loan cost

Choose between the East Washington Street and South East Street contacts, then work from the full repayment figure—not a single percentage applied to every dollar. The two locations publish different opening windows and have separate application processes.

Bottom Dollar Payday is not the lender. This page helps prepare and compare decisions; it does not submit an application or access accounts or application records.

Eastside and South East Street: separate operators

The cards retain each operator’s address, number and published weekly hours. No Speedway or other nearby municipality is counted as an Indianapolis address here.

The map is requested from Google only after you press the button. It searches the displayed place or area; it does not verify a business profile or a license.

Choose the question that matters before you go

I need an early weekday or later Saturday visit

CheckSmart publishes a 9:00 am weekday opening and 4:00 pm Saturday close. A-1 Eastside publishes 10:00 am weekdays and a 2:00 pm Saturday close. Confirm the latest time for the transaction you need. [I11] [I12]

I was told the cost is just one percentage

Indiana’s DFI pamphlet describes a tiered small-loan charge. Ask for the dollar amount and total repayment for the exact principal; do not apply a headline percentage to the whole balance without checking the tier calculation. [I01]

I already have another small loan

Tell the provider about existing obligations and ask what the applicable loan-count and aggregate restrictions mean for the request. A new storefront does not reset those requirements. [I01]

Both list Sunday closure. These hours describe the location, not an approval deadline or a guarantee that every product can be completed in the same visit. Specify the desired payout method and ask which documents must already be complete.

Calculate a $400 example in its proper tiers

The DFI small-loan pamphlet uses 15% on the first $250, 13% on the next $150 and 10% on the portion above $400 within the stated product limits. It is dated January 1, 2025; the current DFI guidance page still links it and explains the July 2026 recodification to IC 37. [I01] [I02]

Illustrative $400 principal Calculation Charge
First $250 250 × 15% $37.50
Next $150 150 × 13% $19.50
Total modeled finance charge 37.50 + 19.50 $57.00
Principal plus that charge 400 + 57 $457.00

This is a pamphlet-based illustration, not either operator’s offer. A 15% charge on the full $400 would be $60 and would not reproduce the stated tier calculation. Request the complete current contract and disclosures.

Distinguish the legal ceiling from a manageable payment

The published framework includes income and aggregate loan restrictions; satisfying one limit is not approval and does not show that essentials are covered. [I01]

For planning, $1,300 expected before repayment minus $760 of essentials, $170 of existing payments and a $100 reserve leaves $270. The illustrative $457 repayment exceeds that budget by $187. This budget example is independent of the statutory fee calculation and is not a recommendation to borrow a smaller amount.

Prepare documents for the operator you actually selected

A-1 describes payday and check-cashing services on the Eastside page; CheckSmart lists a preparation route for identification, income and contact/address evidence. Confirm their respective bank-document requirements directly. Do not treat a check-cashing visit as a submitted loan request. [I11] [I12]

Keep your income dates and other obligations available for the discussion, but do not send sensitive information to a directory. Ask which legal entity would be the creditor before approving access to any financial data.

Keep the contract and the payment instructions together

Record the net money received, finance charge, total payable, due date and agreed payment method. Check whether any quoted optional service is separate from the credit agreement. The Indiana pamphlet describes cancellation and repayment rights; use its exact conditions and speak to the lender promptly when they matter. [I01]

An application confirmation is not a receipt for funds, and a payment instruction is not evidence that a debt has been paid. Retain transaction records and ask the creditor for a balance when necessary.

Make the next call useful even when borrowing is not a fit

Ask the chosen store: “Which documents are missing, what amount would reach me, and what total falls due on what date?” If the answer does not resolve the expense without a future shortage, consider an arrangement with the bill issuer or another product whose real schedule you can assess.

The linked comparison and affordability tools do not contact lenders, create a match or check credit. They let you test the numbers before committing. Existing repayment problems belong with the current creditor and repayment-help route, not with repeated new applications.

Questions before continuing

Does the pamphlet’s old code numbering make it unusable?

DFI’s current page says guidance remains the same after replacement of the former code chapters with IC 37 on July 1, 2026. Use the updated references and current contract. [I02]

Is $457 an available Indianapolis loan offer?

No. It is $400 plus the $57 charge calculated from the published example tiers. Approval, net disbursement and actual terms remain provider-specific.

Are these all Indianapolis lenders?

No. This is a selected two-contact comparison. It is not an exhaustive, licensed or live-availability directory.
