No pay stub? Build an income file a lender can assess
Not having a pay stub is a document problem; it is not the same as having no income. Start with the source of your money, the record that supports it and the payment you could manage. This page helps you prepare that file without uploading personal documents.
Bottom Dollar Payday is a product of FSST Financial Services, LLC, not a lender. An independent provider processes the application; terms and availability depend on the provider.

Start with your situation
Choose the situation that describes your income, not the document that looks easiest to obtain.
Ask payroll for a replacement earnings statement or written pay record. Pair the stated pay period with the corresponding deposit. A banking entry alone does not explain deductions or whether that payment will repeat.
Separate completed, paid work from unpaid invoices. Prepare payout statements and a record of work expenses. Ask which period the lender needs before sending a large collection of unrelated transactions.
Ask what evidence the lender accepts for that source: for example, an award statement plus payment history. Do not describe a one-time benefit or expected transfer as recurring income.
| What needs support | Record to discuss with the lender | What remains unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays you | Employer or client statement | Whether that source is accepted |
| How much arrives | Deposit record matched to earnings | Transfers between your own accounts |
| How often it arrives | Several relevant payment dates | Whether recent timing will continue |
| What you can spend | Income less work costs and essentials | The lender's affordability assessment |

These are preparation options, not a list of universally accepted substitutes. The CFPB describes income verification, identification and a suitable account among general payday-loan requirements; it does not promise that a particular document secures approval. [R01]
Illustrative document check: a statement shows a $700 client payment, $200 moved from savings and a $100 refund. Total credits are $1,000, but those entries do not demonstrate $1,000 of new earnings. Keep the $700 payment distinct, explain the transfer and identify the refund.
For self-employment, make a second distinction: revenue is not money available for personal repayment. If that $700 receipt required $180 of business expenses, $520 remains before taxes and personal expenses. Keep a note showing how each number was obtained; do not edit the underlying statement to hide inconvenient entries.
Use the worksheet
Use take-home income, necessary spending, a reserve and the proposed payment for the same period. Include only income confirmed for that period.
Use numbers without $ signs or thousands separators; use a dot for decimals. The calculation stays in this page and does not retrieve bank or credit data.
Cash before the new payment = usable income − essentials/existing obligations − chosen reserve. Residual = that result − the proposed payment. All entries must describe the same period. A negative result is a shortfall; a positive result is not an approval or a recommendation to commit the balance. The reserve is your input, not a standard buffer.
Input limits: money $0–$35,000 (two decimal places); principal must be positive; fee must be below principal. Monthly term: 1–600 whole months. Annual nominal rate: 0–1,000%, up to four decimals. App uses: 0–1,000 whole uses. These are calculator limits, not available loan terms.
A complete file can still describe a payment that does not fit. Compare the same period on both sides of the calculation, including any other debt payments in essential outgoings.
| Illustration for one pay period | Normal receipt | Smaller receipt |
|---|---|---|
| Take-home income | $1,000 | $900 |
| Essentials and existing payments | $760 | $760 |
| Planned buffer | $80 | $80 |
| Proposed new payment | $110 | $110 |
| Remaining cash | $50 | −$50 |

The second case needs a different plan even though the documents are unchanged. The worksheet produces arithmetic, not a lender's approved amount. It does not test whether all your expenses have been included.
Before uploading, obtain the provider's exact request: document type, covered dates, all pages or selected pages, accepted file format and any permitted redactions. Use originals you can explain. Keep dates, payer names and totals consistent across records; explain legitimate differences instead of inventing an employment history.
For an unexpected upload request, open the provider's known website independently or call a number obtained separately. The FTC warns that messages and attachments can imitate familiar organizations to capture financial information. [R09] There is no document-upload function on this page.
Ask whether the lender can evaluate your evidence before assuming that the requested product is available. Then review the offer's net proceeds, APR, fees, payment dates, total repayment and the exact credit-check stage. A substitute document is not a fee waiver or a promise of a soft inquiry.
Finally, confirm where the money would go after a decision. A verified income deposit does not automatically establish that the receiving account meets a particular lender's rules. If the source cannot be documented, ask what additional evidence would resolve the issue rather than repeatedly submitting the same incomplete request.
Prepare a short cover note: “My income comes from [source]. I have [record] covering [dates]. Can you assess that evidence, and what else is required?” Keep the bracketed details in your private note; this page does not collect them.
If the difficulty is irregular work, continue to the gig-worker or self-employed page. If income itself has stopped, use the no-current-job page instead. Before accepting any offer, run the payment test again using the actual repayment schedule, not an estimated best-case income.
No. It describes a missing format of evidence. Ask the provider how it verifies your actual income and whether your alternative record is acceptable.
Send only what the verified recipient specifically requests. Ask about the period, relevant pages and permitted redactions first; an older tax record may need current supporting information.
No. A statement can help explain transactions, but it does not establish approval, product availability or the final rate.
Continue to the online application. Review the terms of any offer before you accept.
