300–499 Credit Score Loans

With a very low score, identify what must change first

A reported score in the 300–499 range does not establish that a particular loan is available. Use the report and your current budget to separate errors, unresolved obligations and requirements you cannot yet meet.

Bottom Dollar Payday is a product of FSST Financial Services, LLC, not a lender. An independent provider processes the application; terms and availability depend on the provider.

Score date

An older number may not describe the current report

Source and model

A lender may use a different score or assessment

Report identity

A mixed file or incorrect account needs investigation

Which situation matches the report?

Keep the score’s date and model with the report. Different numbers or missing history should not be forced into the same problem.

The score or report may be wrong

Compare the identifying details and account records. Note exactly which item you dispute and why. Begin correction with evidence instead of paying for a promise that accurate information will disappear.

The negative items are accurate and payments remain overdue

List current balances, due dates and the amount required to stabilise essentials. Ask existing creditors about available arrangements. A new obligation must be evaluated alongside the overdue ones, not in isolation.

The report is accurate and I can document a surplus

Ask a verified provider about its actual threshold and other requirements before consenting to a full application. Prepare a lower-income budget as well. A surplus does not override a lender’s minimum requirements.

Check what the number actually represents

Record Why it matters
Score date An older number may not describe the current report
Source and model A lender may use a different score or assessment
Report identity A mixed file or incorrect account needs investigation
Main negative factors They identify issues to inspect, not guaranteed fixes
Current obligations The budget must include debts due now

“No score” is a different situation from a score of 300. Use the no-credit-history page when a report or score cannot be produced rather than assuming the lowest possible number.

Prepare a correction file when information is wrong

Write the disputed account or item, what the record currently says, what you believe is correct and the evidence. The CFPB recommends disputing errors with both the reporting company and the information furnisher. [S13]

Keep communications and responses together. Do not claim that a submitted dispute has already corrected the file. A provider still decides what information it needs and whether it can proceed during a review.

Do not finance an existing shortage without testing the new one

Illustrative case: income available before the next payday is $1,150. Essentials require $900 and existing debt commitments $180. That leaves $70 before a new loan payment. A new $140 payment would leave a $70 shortage.

Item Cash effect
Available income $1,150
Essential expenses −$900
Existing obligations −$180
Before new borrowing $70
Proposed new payment −$140
Remaining cash −$70

On a narrow screen, scroll inside the table to see every column.

The immediate cash received does not remove the later negative balance. A smaller need or an agreed change to an existing bill must be confirmed before recalculating.

Evaluate changes in product risk explicitly

If a provider suggests collateral or another borrower, read what additional obligations those choices create. Identify the asset, legal borrower, default consequences and complete payment schedule. Do not assume that a car, wage deposit or another person guarantees acceptance.

Fees and longer terms can change cost substantially. Ask for net proceeds and total payments, including charges outside the quoted installment. [S03] Keep any provider’s score requirement separate from your own interpretation of whether the deal seems manageable.

Leave with one documented action

If the obstacle is a report error, complete the correction file. If it is current arrears or a negative budget, seek an arrangement that addresses those amounts. If a lender has declined, obtain the specific reasons or follow its notice explaining how to request them. [S12]

Next action: choose the unresolved requirement and the evidence needed to address it. This page does not recommend paying for guaranteed approval or a guaranteed score repair. Verify any new creditor independently before sharing documents or paying a disclosed charge. [S08]

Questions before your next step

Is there a guaranteed lender for a score of 400?

No such guarantee is made here. Availability depends on a real provider’s requirements and the full application.

Will repaying one debt raise the score enough for a loan?

This page cannot predict a score change, timing or acceptance threshold. Use updated records and the actual provider’s criteria.

Should I use someone else’s information to qualify?

No. Supply accurate information and use a joint application only with the other person’s informed participation and the provider’s actual process.
