Kentucky storefronts: compare the cash you keep

Start with the cash needed for the bill—not the number printed on a check. Compare the contacts below, then ask how much you receive, what you repay and whether another transaction is still open.

Bottom Dollar Payday is not the lender. This page helps prepare and compare decisions; it does not submit an application or access accounts or application records.

Service charge

Up to $15 per $100 of check face

15% of cash in hand

Database charge

$3 per transaction, may be passed on

It is already included in the service charge

Duration

At least 14 days; no more than 60 days

Every store offers 60 days

Published contacts in Kentucky

The contacts below are a selection, not the full state inventory. The four city guides linked on this page include additional profiles. Confirm the exact service and hours with the named business.

The map is requested from Google only after you press the button. It searches the displayed place or area; it does not verify a business profile or a license.

Choose your starting point

You are looking in Louisville or Lexington

Use the exact street and phone in the contact cards. These are published directory contacts, not a promise that a counter is open today. Ask whether your application can be completed there.

You are looking in Bowling Green or Owensboro

These cities belong to this state directory, but no branch in either city is represented by the two cards below. Use the operator’s locator and verify the returned street; do not treat a different Kentucky city as nearby.

You already have an outstanding transaction

Take the remaining balance and agreement date into the conversation. Another storefront is not a fresh allowance. Ask the provider to explain the database result rather than submitting repeated requests.

What the 2026 change means for your quote

The enacted framework uses a $600 statutory base for total proceeds across open transactions, with later CPI orders possible and an $850 ceiling on those orders. The ceiling is not an offer of $850. Confirm the currently applicable adjustment with Kentucky DFI. [KY01]

Item Basis to check What not to assume
Service charge Up to $15 per $100 of check face 15% of cash in hand
Database charge $3 per transaction, may be passed on It is already included in the service charge
Duration At least 14 days; no more than 60 days Every store offers 60 days
Open transactions No more than two; aggregate proceeds restriction Each company gives a separate maximum

A check-face example, not a store offer

Suppose a hypothetical $200 check carries a $30 service charge, with the $3 database charge also deducted from delivery. Net cash is $167 and the check repayment is $200. This illustration uses the check-face basis; it is not a quote from either business.

Your worksheet Amount Meaning
Check due $200 Obligation on the agreed date
Service charge $30 15% of check face
Database charge deducted $3 Separate disclosed charge
Net cash available $167 $200 − $30 − $3
Gap on a $180 bill $13 Still not covered

A fee paid separately rather than withheld changes delivery cash, not the need to budget that fee. Ask the employee to reconcile the receipt and contract.

Plan one useful visit rather than several requests

Bring the information the chosen provider asks for, and check its document list before leaving home. Prepare your next reliable income date and essential expenses through that date. If a requested amount does not cover the bill after charges, ask the biller about splitting the payment before increasing the request. A branch’s closing time is not a guaranteed application cutoff.

Know who is operating the counter

Match the legal business and street to the Kentucky regulator’s records. A directory entry, familiar sign or website is not a license certificate. Use Kentucky DFI for a conflicting license name or regulatory question. Never send identification or bank credentials to the contact form of an unrelated directory. [KY02]

Keep repayment and a new application separate

Kentucky’s framework prohibits fee-based renewal, rollover or consolidation of the deferred-deposit transaction. Contact the actual provider before the due date when repayment will not fit; ask for available arrangements in writing. Taking a new loan elsewhere does not erase the existing obligation. [KY01]

Leave with four answers you can use

Before signing, be able to state the net cash, all charges, exact repayment date and payment method. Keep the agreement and the receipt. If the payment would consume money reserved for rent, food or transport, use the affordability worksheet or pause the borrowing route. The directory helps you contact a business; it does not select a creditor or submit an application for you.

Questions before continuing

Are these Bottom Dollar branches?

No. The listed businesses are third parties. Their calls and website links go to the operator; Bottom Dollar does not own or staff these counters.

Is $850 available now?

It is the ceiling for statutory adjustment orders, not a currently verified loan allowance or an approval amount. The enacted base is $600; check any applicable current order. [KY01]

Does the second contact count as another loan allowance?

No. The relevant open-transaction and aggregate restrictions apply beyond a single visit. Ask for an explanation of any ineligibility rather than trying multiple counters.
